Update landing next week!

July 30, 2026 by Bugs in Updates

The developers are focused almost entirely on upcoming content this week. The Game Room DLC received a large polish pass, more working systems were added to player maintained monuments, the satellite crash event is starting to resemble a complete gameplay loop, and livestock continues to take shape.

Game Room DLC

The upcoming Game Room DLC is built around playable games and bar-style items for your base, including pool, darts, a jukebox, bar furniture, and wallpapers,. Pool received most of the attention this week. Racked balls no longer clip into each other, the cue ball starts in the correct position, ball numbers face upward, and an internal mix-up between the 5 and 8 balls was fixed. Games no longer end simply because someone walks away, with the timeout now based on the last shot taken. Placement guides were added to help fit the table inside bases, and several mounting and dismounting problems were cleaned up. Work has also started on a new pool interface with a revised top bar and player displays.

Darts scoring now calculates properly, with new effects for throws, bullseyes, and winning a game. The throwing viewmodel, dartboard texture, reticle, and sounds were updated as well. The jukebox has a revised model, textures, lighting, and icon, plus an LED display that shows the current radio station or indicates when a cassette is playing. Its lighting and speaker effects respond to power, while the particle effects now move in time with the music. Pool and darts both received their first sound passes, and the bar wallpapers and stools picked up another round of visual and mounting fixes.

Player maintained monuments

Player maintained monuments are a large upcoming system that will let players restore power and operate machinery across several existing monuments. Heavy fuses, electrical grids, pipes, switches, terminals, and other equipment all feed into the system, with better rewards becoming available as more of the infrastructure is brought online. At the Dome, the smaller oil pump now has its own switch and produces half the output of the larger one. Running both produces around 1.5 times the large pump's output over roughly 20 minutes, provided the pumps are connected and the Power Plant grid is running. Power poles can now be climbed from any side without placing a ladder. Powered poles with an electrical box can also provide up to 30 power through their output connections, although poles inside monuments remain unclimbable.

Power Plant now has a high-tier red recycler that becomes available at the highest power stage. It currently runs at 75% efficiency with a four-second cycle. Green recyclers outside safe zones drop to 50% efficiency while the grid is unpowered and return to the usual 60% once enough power has been restored, while the yellow recyclers inside safe zones remain unchanged. At Water Treatment, the water puzzle has updated valves, pipes, signs, tank visuals, and sounds. One valve can get the water moving, while running all three increases production. Tank capacity was raised from 5,000 to 15,000 and the output rate was increased. Oxum's Gas Station continues to receive work on its powered car lift and crusher, including fixes for vehicles being destroyed on the ramp, lift durability, car crushing, and new sounds. Airfield now has chargeable terminals with screens and activation buttons that are being set up to call either an airdrop or Chinook. Heavy fuses have also been moved into regular crates, making them less dependent on radtown loot spawns.

Satellite crash

The satellite crash is a new world event that will let players take control of an orbiting satellite, influence where it lands, and then fight over the wreckage. The event currently requires the Power Plant grid to be active. From the control computer, players can select an available satellite and spend its remaining thruster burns to move the target or tighten the landing area. The starting target is placed randomly around the map, so bringing it closer to a useful location will take fuel and planning. Powering the computer currently costs between 6 and 12 tech trash, descent takes around 10 minutes, and another satellite cannot be used for 12 to 16 in-game hours.

The control interface now has screens for locked, offline, cooldown, satellite selection, and steering states, with the main control screen nearing completion. Once the satellite lands, both its crates and wreckage remain too hot to access until they cool. The remains can then be harvested for resources. A separate satellite loot setup has been created and received its own loot and harvesting pass, allowing it to be balanced independently from the helicopter loot it originally borrowed. The developers are also experimenting with the descent visuals, including the flight path, scale, perspective, trail length, and how the satellite crosses the terrain before impact. Still very much in development, but the full event is starting to come together.

Rock sculptures

A new rock sculpture is also in development, giving players a much easier way to create custom sculptures than the older ice sculpture system. Rather than repeatedly hitting a block with a tool like the old ice sculpture, players can interact with the pedestal to open a proper sculpting interface. It currently includes carving, additive, push, and pull tools, along with adjustable shapes, strength, hardness, and size.

This week brought a new model, materials, collision, impact effects, destruction pieces, clearer stone edges, and more consistent carving guides. Tooltips were added to the available shapes, the carving outline now gives a better preview of what will be added or removed, and the brush settings were adjusted to behave more consistently at different sizes. The sculpture and its pedestal also received lower-detail models so large or detailed creations should be less demanding from a distance.

Livestock

Livestock is an upcoming farming system aimed at letting players keep and raise animals rather than relying entirely on the wildlife roaming the map. Sheep and lambs are now being added alongside the existing cow and calf work, with proper hitboxes, interaction areas, grazing, and following behavior.

The first aging system is in place, allowing a young animal to eventually be replaced by its next growth stage. Early breeding support has also started, although it can only be triggered through developer commands for now. Livestock can be given persistent names, will be saved through server restarts, and now flee from nearby gunshots and other loud noises. Animals being led will break away and flee when hurt, while fixes were made for grazing interrupting their following behavior.

Fixes

A large batch of fixes made its way in this week:

  • Fixed not being able to loot sleepers inside safe zones in Hardcore
