Powergrid fuses, balance tweaks, and Game Room polish
Powergrid work continues this week as player maintained monuments get more fleshed out, alongside a fresh round of balance changes, Game Room DLC polish, satellite crash progress, and more work on the upcoming sculpture system.
Player Maintained Monuments and Powergrid
Player maintained monuments continue to take shape, with the developers expanding the idea of players keeping key infrastructure running across the map. Power Plant remains a major focus, with heavy fuses now degrading over time and different powergrid stages unlocking more functionality as players keep the system online.
That progression is also starting to connect into other monuments. Outpost gains additional recyclers tied to the powergrid, Water Treatment continues to get interactive pipes and machinery, and Airfield now links its chinook call terminal to higher power stages. Oil Rig and Gas Station also saw more maintainable-system work as the broader feature continues to come together.
Balance changes
A handful of balance tweaks landed on main this week. AKs once again spawn with 4 rifle bullets in the magazine by default, while the blowpipe received a nice buff with wood dart damage increased from 40 to 50 and its cloth cost reduced from 25 to 10.
The collared shirt and bucket helmet both received protection buffs, with the bucket helmet also getting a cheaper crafting cost. Wolf headdress and lunar mask skins now require a Tier 1 workbench, with the nest egg hat moved to Tier 1 as well. Siege weapons can once again take fire damage as intended, and the boat vendor now sells an actual kayak and paddle rather than blueprints.
Game Room DLC
More Game Room DLC polish landed this week, with the pool table getting pickup and repair support, improved placement guidance, updated models and prefabs, and further work on game reset behavior. Pool cues also received updated first- and third-person models along with new materials and textures.
Darts saw another round of improvements too, including colored darts for each player in multiplayer, better dart clearing between turns, scoring fixes, and additional visual polish. Bar stools also received more model, collider, texture, and prefab work as the DLC continues toward completion.
Satellite crash
The satellite crash event continues to get more fleshed out, with further work on loot, crash effects, controls, and the satellite control computer. Larger satellites can now be tied to larger loot payouts, while several save, UI, and targeting issues were cleaned up.
More art and crash-impact work also landed this week, and the feature continues to be integrated alongside the player maintained monuments systems. Still very much a work in progress, but the event is steadily moving beyond the early prototype stage.
Sculptures
The sculpture system saw a sizable round of polish this week, including a major shader rewrite aimed at improving performance while cleaning up the look of stone sculptures. Edit mode visuals, lighting, camera setup, normals, and sculpting behavior also received several fixes.
The developers also worked through a number of stability and usability issues, including undo and redo problems, editor initialization, accidental sculpting when opening the interface, networking safeguards, and general UI cleanup.
