5:00pm EST - A bit of a slow day in Rust development, there’s been a bunch of commits, however, not a ton of forward facing stuff hitting the development branch yet. That should change tomorrow as the team preps for the update on Thursday. In the mean time, here’s a couple things of note from today...
Not much word yet on how farming is going to work, however, I did get my hands on this teaser screen from Garry. Pumpkins confirmed!
Fixed floating buildings
For weeks now, the stability system has allowed for floating buildings in some instances. This will no longer be the case as Garry has added extra protections against floating objects. I did some initial tests and was unable to get anything to stay floating, nice!
In an effort to keep entity counts low and prolong the life of servers, decay was added several weeks ago. Unfortunately, it hasn’t been doing too much in the form of lowered entity counts because it’s been slow as a motherfucker. Garry has tweaked the system today, making it so decay works a bit faster. How much faster exactly? Hard to tell right now but I have some test structures which I’ll monitor over the next 2 days.
More pistol animations
Minh has completed some more animations for the new pistol. Man, I can’t wait to get my hands on this thing! **Fingers crossed it’s this week**
Diogo has made some tweaks to the new water system. Specifically, that glowing along the shorelines at night has been removed.
The stream team and I are heading back to Hapis for some more tunnel living tonight at 10pm EST. Follow Rustafied on twitch to know exactly when we go live.
