Hack week
Another Hackweek is underway! If you’re unfamiliar, Hackweek is when the developers take a break from their usual tasks and work on any project they’re passionate about — often leading to fun, experimental features. While not everything from Hackweek makes it into the game, it’s been the origin of some awesome additions in the past. Here is what we’re seeing being worked on so far:
Wire snapping - snapping ability for wire placement
Drawbridge - no details yet, but you can use your imagination
Rotating platform - Added a rotating platform you can deploy items on, rotates 180 degrees when powered
Confusion dart - Reverses movement controls and swaps jump / crouch
Automated testing - looks to be a testing suite to automatically and quickly test various functionalities of the game (helps with QA and stability)
Naval update
The next big thing on the horizon looks to be the Naval Update. While details are still pretty limited, we’re seeing signs of some major water-based content in the works. So far, the developers are working on things like a boat building, RHIB scientists, a new ship called the Trawler, and even a floating city monument. No word yet on when it’ll go live, but we’ll keep an eye out and let you know as soon as more info surfaces.
