12:00am EST - The November update is here, bringing major progression changes, box sorting, quality of life tweaks, and more — with the Naval Update now set to sail in December.
Reduced Research Costs
Workbench crafting just got a whole lot cheaper. As of this update, you no longer need any scrap to craft workbenches. Scrap still plays a role in progression, though, as it’s required for tech tree unlocks. Speaking of which, those costs have been significantly lowered across the board:
Common: 15 scrap (was 20)
Uncommon: 30 scrap (was 75)
Rare: 60 scrap (was 125)
Very Rare: 120 scrap (was 500)
Blueprint Wipes
With all the changes to progression this month, it’s no surprise we’re seeing a blueprint wipe alongside the update — the first forced BP wipe in quite some time. But that’s not all: going forward, all official servers will now wipe blueprints on a monthly basis. This new system lines up with the existing monthly map wipe cadence and should help keep things fresh, especially in the early game.
Edit: Based on the devblog, the monthly forced BP wipes on officials are a ‘maybe’
Automatic Box Sorting
Automatic box sorting has landed on staging, bringing some much-needed QoL for inventory management. To enable it, you’ll need a powered Storage Adapter hooked up to the container. Once set up, sorting is supported on large boxes, small boxes, coffins, and other DLC storage.
There are several sorting modes to choose from:
Alphabetical (with language toggle support)
Count (sort by quantity)
Condition (sort by item durability)
Category (group similar items)
Custom (captures and reuses the current box layout as a snapshot)
You’ll also find a couple handy toggles: one for reversing the sort order, and another for auto-combining partial stacks. It’s shaping up to be a game-changer for base organization once it hits live.
Quality of Life
There are a bunch of quality of life additions coming this month. Here is a rundown:
Puzzle Zones & Radiation:
Timers start when a puzzle-room container is looted (not a rolling 30m always).
Timers tick down even if players are nearby
10 minutes before refresh, severe radiation appears around loot rooms/switches/fuse boxes; puzzle only resets after a total of 5 minutes clear of players
Player-presence zones were shrunk to be more forgiving
Horse Updates:
Horses can now be healed with medical syringes
Syringes give temporary gallop speed/stamina buff
Syringe can be used while riding
Backpack Integration:
When inventory is full, gathered items go straight into backpack
Includes trees, nodes, corpses, collectibles, and plants
Elevator Changes:
Power input slot added to every floor
If any elevator is powered, entire stack functions
Increase the speed of player elevators (3m/s -> 5m/s)
Reduce the delay at the end of the lift movement for player elevators (1s -> 0.2s)
Food & Spoiling:
Food no longer spoils in Arctic biome
Food now stacks regardless of spoil timer (lowest time applies)
Fish pie comfort bumped from 25% to 100%
Diver Propulsion Vehicle Changes:
Now crafted using metal fragments, not high-quality metal
Also available for purchase at Fishing Village

Jackhammer price increased at vendor
M4 shotgun added back to hackable crate loot pool

Drop rate of auto turrets in loot tables has been reduced
Medical items, teas, and food can no longer be used while flying (as a pilot)
Helicopter Flares & Homing Missile Tweaks
Meanwhile, the recent flare and homing missile changes continue to get refined. Players can no longer manually throw flares from helicopters — but no worries, all player-controlled helicopters still come equipped with the built-in flare deployment systems. That includes the minicopter and attack helicopter. Manual thrown flares no longer affect homing missiles.
A few extra polish passes have also landed: flare visuals are improved for minis and scrap helis, and new dashboard indicators now show flare status directly inside the cockpit. Also, repairing in flight: now disallowed.
New RPG DLC
A new DLC is on the horizon this month, and while details are still coming together, we’ve already got our first confirmed item: an RPG-7 skin for the rocket launcher. From the look of things, this DLC will lean into that classic rocket-propelled grenade vibe, but it’s still unclear what else might be included. We’ll keep an eye on staging and update as more content gets revealed.
