Development summary

Here’s our development summary video from TGG.

Ziplines on AUX

A new way to get from point A to point B has hit the AUX staging branch this week. The first iteration of Ziplines is in and here’s what you need to know:

  • Ziplines are found on high tension power lines

  • They connect to other high tension power lines and to nearby monuments when close enough

  • To use, climb up one of the new high tension power line platforms and mount the zipline

  • You can speed up by pressing W

  • This is still WIP - there are some clipping issues and things to clean up

Spray can improvements

The Spray Can has been tweaked a bit, allowing for much smoother paint spraying than we were seeing on staging last week. Although the paint still doesn’t last very long, tagging up your friends' walls is much easier than before.

Magnetic crane improvements

The Magnetic Crane at Junkyard has received some love this week with a number of new improvements such as:

  • Added a blue light to the Magnet Crane cockpit. When the magnet crane cabin is within 10 degrees of facing straight forward, it lights up

  • Holding the crouch key while in the Magnet Crane now automatically rotates the cabin back to zero

  • Fixed modular cars no longer correctly supporting the semi-secret mouse steer option

  • "Occupied" message no longer shows when looking at vehicle modules with no mount points

  • Fixed glitching start/stop sounds caused by poor speed calculations

Official server analytics

The team is also starting to track a whole bunch of actions and metrics previously flying under the radar on official servers. With ‘server.stats’ set to true, official servers will soon save analytical data such as:

  • Various purchases (vending machines, vehicles, horses)

  • NPC caused deaths

  • All player consumed items

  • Tree and ore harvesting (by tool type)

  • Mission completions

Other stuff

  • Fixed edge case where reskinning a snowmobile would sometimes lose it's storage

  • More work on Airfield lighting

  • More work on brick building skins

  • More work on above ground rail network

  • More work on pets branch
