Introducing: Procgen 11.1

January 06, 2016 by Bugs in Updates

4:54pm EST - Some confusion around the development branch today. As it turns out, the branch name has been changed to 'staging.' That means you'll have to re-opt into that branch on your client side (because development is now gone and it switched everyone back to the main branch).

This also unfortunately caused our dev server to wipe again when I last updated. I just switched it to the proper 'staging' branch, chose a new map seed, and restarted. I won't wipe this server again for 2 weeks (unless another wipe is forced for some reason).

1:30pm EST - In preparation for the update tomorrow, the newest version of the procedural map generation system is on the development branch. Along with a bunch of bug fixes, procgen 11.1 features a ton of new rock models which add contrast to the landscape and look great.

As with all first updates of the month, a forced map wipe will occur when it goes live (which may be a bit earlier than usual according to this tweet). I’m working on a full write up of the update which will be posted late tonight / early tomorrow. In the meantime, check out some pictures of the new procgen:
